Serve Yakima

The mission of Saint Andrew’s outside the walls of our church can be summarized as “in Yakima as it is in Heaven”. We desire for peace, justice, righteousness and flourishing to characterize our city. To accomplish this we focus on three main tasks: heralding, building, and serving.

Heralds of the Kingdom

One of the most crucial elements of seeing the Kingdom of God break into Yakima as it is in Heaven is first being heralds of the Kingdom of God. We are called to go out to the world and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ; who he is and what he has accomplished. And that he is now sitting at the right hand of the Father as King of the World.

Builders of the Kingdom

In addition to proclaiming the Kingdom, God has brought us into his work of building his Kingdom here in Yakima. We aim to build institutions and organizations, such as Immanuel Classical School, that will impact the city for generations. We want to build a culture in Yakima that is focused on honoring Christ and loving our neighbors.

Servants of the Kingdom

Finally, Christ’s Kingdom demands a renewed social landscape; one in which the weak, needy and poor are clothed, fed, and protected. Because of this we aim to serve Yakima through our own projects like trash pickup around our church, as well as partnering with local organizations such as UGM, Life Choices, Love Inc., and more.
