Form Disciples
To be a disciple of Christ is to be formed into the image of Christ. Our aim is to form the whole Christ in the whole person so as to be mature and equipped for every good work.
Part of our mission at Saint Andrew’s is to form disciples. We live in a time and a place where connecting with others is hard. We all want to know others and be known but we often don't know where to start. At Saint Andrew's we believe this happens when we gather in intentional community, seeking Christ together through the means of the Word, prayer, and fellowship. It is in these groups that we are able to experience the richness of discipleship–having Christ formed in us.
Outside of corporate worship, our discipleship has three primary rhythms: Discipleship Groups, Community Parties, and Men’s/Women’s Events
D-Groups
Our Discipleship Groups meet weekly for three terms each year to spend time in prayer, accountability, scripture memory and rich discussion. It is in these smaller groups that we are able to share deeply, and go further up and further into a life of faithfulness.
Community Parties
We are a community who likes to have fun together. In order to be filled with the joy of Christ we have to practice. When we have fun and build memories with one another, it helps us learn to trust each other with the deeper things in life. Because of this, we try to have a community party with one another once a quarter.
Men’s/Women’s Events
Throughout the year we have various men’s and women’s gatherings meant to encourage fellowship, and depth in the truth of God’s word. As a young church these groups are not regular, but happen at various times throughout the year.
Immanuel Classical School
Out of a desire to see our children raised and discipled up in the gospel, we have decided to start a classical Christian School in the heart of Yakima. Our hope and prayer is that this ministry serves our community to help the church at large in Yakima raise our children to love God in the world.
